Ministry Purpose
The Hospitality Team provides physical nourishment to people as a way to express gratitude and compassion. They offer physical support to the body of Christ through opportunities to nourish staff, volunteers and members of the congregation. Feeding someone is a very tangible way to show love and compassion. We provide refreshments to thank hard-working staff and volunteers on Sunday morning. We provide food for families in hardship – whether from a sickness, a death, a fire, or adjusting to the sleeplessness of a new baby in the house.

Requirements

- We ask that you serve 1-4 times per month on Sunday to provide

refreshments and occasionally, as needed, on special events.
- For the safety of all children, complete and pass a volunteer

background check (we only check for sexually related crimes).

Service Expectations

Sunday Refreshments
- Arrive 30 minutes before scheduled service time to check in and

  deliver and set up food.
- Thank hard-working staff and volunteers by providing healthy

  refreshments on Sunday mornings.
- Regularly check the coffee table to ensure that all needed supplies

are full (sugar, sweetners, creamer, cups, lids, napkins, etc.)
- Those serving on the 2nd service, return to volunteer central after

service to straighten up and give away any uneaten food.
- If you bring food in your own serving dish, please be sure to

retrieve it after your scheduled service.

Meal Coordinator
- As directed by the Ministry Team Leader, provide for meals during

periods of emotional/physical/spiritual hardship (i.e. cooking a meal

for a family in need, with a new baby, etc.). This information will

be communicated to the Team Leader through the Pastor of Culture

& Community. This information is to be kept strictly confidential.
- If you are delivering food to a family in need, ask what time you

can deliver and be prompt according to your promised to delivery

  time.

Fellowship Event Planning & Preparation
- You may be asked to help with special events and with special

  needs from time to time.
- Pray! Pray! Pray! Pray for the people who will consume the food

you prepare. Pray that they would experience Christ’s all-

consuming love. Pray that they would be refreshed through both

your physical food and Christ’s spiritual nourishment.
- Attend occasional Team meetings.
- If you will be unable to serve your assigned shift, please give ample

  notice to your Team Leader.
