Ministry Leader of the Greeting Team

You’ve seen him. You see him every Sunday. You see him smiling, laughing, loving. You’ve seen Tony and you have come away better for the experience. Tony Crick is 24’s Ministry Team Leader for the Greeting team and is the face of our church!

Tony was born and raised right here in Pleasant View and personifies the term “southern hospitality” with his permanent smile and willingness to offer a hug to anyone who needs or wants one. He spends his days working for a printing company, ProGraphics while also working his way through school to get his real estate license. He wants to work in property management and commercial real estate once that happens. Active in sports in high school, particularly baseball, he has carried that love into his adult years. He loves to spend his free time watching and playing various sports (you should see him on the softball field!) with friends and family. In his teen years, his parents divorced leaving him with the responsibility of being the man of the house. He grasped that role whole-heartedly which led him to becoming the strong young man that you see today. When talking about that role and that experience, Tony says “Today, I try to be strong for others and let them know that struggles develop strengths.” When talking to Tony, you do feel his strength and his ability to turn a bad situation into a good one.

Tony came to 24 a little over a year ago when he and his sister Charisse were searching for a church home. When he found 24, he knew he had “found the greatest church in the world at 24.” That winter, on February 17, he received Christ as his savior and publicly declared that faith through Baptism that next Easter. Tony immediately jumped right into serving in the Greeting ministry and immediately showed his love for people and his desire to make them feel welcome. When the opportunity for him to lead the Greeting team came available several months ago, Tony stepped right up to it. At 24, the leadership considers this Ministry to be one of the most important as it is one of the most visible and readily felt by every person who walks through the doors. Tony was an easy decision to fill this role.

“Being a part of the greeting ministry is right where I need to be. I love engaging in other peoples’ lives and getting to talk to everyone who walks through the doors. The people I serve with mean the world to me and they will never know how much I appreciate and love them; and how this ministry could not survive without them. I can’t wait for God to call others to serve as He has called me. Serving truly has fulfilled me as I walk with Christ.”

Tony’s objective in leading and serving at 24 is to “love on others and let them know that although we aren’t born into the same family, we are all loved by the same Father.” If you want a small glimpse into the love and ministry that Tony is so passionate about, check out his spotlight video!
