In September of 2004, Chris Royalty, Erin Royalty, and Joey Boykin began sharing a vision for a new kind of church:  a church to reach those not being reached by existing churches.  They began asking others to pray about being a part of this new work, and during the last few months of the year groups of interested people began gathering to discuss the church and ask questions.  One of these meetings took place at Pleasant View Elementary, and one took place in the home of Stephen and Beth Carr.  As the core group of people began to formulate a vision for the church, they also traveled to local churches to share the vision and seek assistance from others.  The church was to be named 24church after the I-24 Corridor.

On January 2, 2005, 24Church met for the first worship service at Pleasant View Elementary school and had 69 people in attendance.  The very next week they began offering a Kid’s Church and a Nursery/Preschool ministry to meet the needs of the families that would come and visit.  In the days that followed, no one was ready for the blessings that God began to pour out.  The church began to grow, and within the first month volunteer, HomeTeam, and student ministries were all started.

After a long process of trying to acquire adequate worship space, 24church moved into its very first building on March 2, 2008.  This provided a space large enough to allow future growth.  Worship space for kids and a larger nursery space were especially provided by the building.   In the future,  24church fully expects to have mulitple services and desires to plant additional churches.

The church continues to grow every week, and even more importantly, it continues to see many people begin a personal relationship with Christ!  There have been many people who have come back to church after previously feeling displaced by organized religion. 

We look forward to what God has in store for the future of 24, and we believe that He has just begun to work through us.  There is so much in store that we have not even begun to dream of.  If 24 is the place for you, we look forward to seeing how you fit into the story that lies ahead!
